Trustee statement on recent media speculation

You may have read comments in the press about the possibility that WBA is considering becoming a privately-owned company. There has also been commentary that WBA could sell Boots to help fund the deal. This is media speculation and WBA has no comment to make.

As you will see from the last Trustee’s annual report and accounts (available here), we monitor and regularly report on the funding level of the Scheme and maintain an open dialogue with the Company. Also, 2019 is a triennial valuation year which means we are carrying out a fuller, more formal review of the financial position of the Scheme, in consultation with the Company.

This ongoing monitoring puts us in a good position to consider and react, should there ever be any changes to the Company and the way it supports the Scheme.
